Hi, friends!
We had quite a fun weekend here on the South Shore. After a busy July 4th on Cape Cod, our weekend was fairly low-key and very relaxing, but, at time same time, we kept ourselves occupied with a number of family adventures, including some old favorites as well as new ones!
First up, swimming at the YMCA! We’ve been members for nearly a year now, but had NO IDEA we could use the outdoor pool. It actually used to be a separate Y membership, but now it’s included in the family membership. Woohoo! We were psyched to learn about this benefit, and we’ve visited the pool a ton since! 🙂
Our friends told us about an incredible new flavor at Hornstra Farms, so we obviously needed to check it out. It’s their “birthday cake” flavor with a July 4th spin on it – vanilla ice cream mixed with chocolate cake and red and blue sprinkles. OMG, it was amazing! It’s a limited edition, so if you’re local, make sure you stop by ASAP to try it. I promise, it’s WORTH IT!
On Sunday morning, we tracked down The Beacon Coffee Truck.
We found it at the Scituate Lighthouse, which was such a cool spot to explore. I can’t believe we’ve never visited before!
It’s absolutely beautiful and there’s a long jetty that extends out into the harbor.
Quinn randomly wanted to wear his soccer shin guards (#ootd), which ended up being a great decision for protecting his shins from all of the rock climbing we did!
All in all, it was an awesome summer weekend on the South Shore. Have I mentioned how much we love living here? 🙂
P.S. If you’ve given up on cooking this summer like I have, be sure to sign up for my weekly “throw-together meals” email. Each week, I share 3 simple meals that you can whip up quickly and effortlessly. A lot of time, they’re no-cook meals! 🙂
