Don’t let toned become a substitute for STRONG in some lame attempt to distance yourself from “looking like a man.” You’re not a man… and you won’t look like one. Not unless you intentionally try. Like, real intentionally.
For the people in the back…
Lifting heavy (for you) weights will not make you bulky.
You will not turn into a man.
People will not mistake you for a steroid-ridden bodybuilder.
Your voice will not drop, and you will not grow a mustache.
What WILL lifting heavy (for you) weights do?
Give you longer, leaner lines
Increase your metabolism so you can burn more calories
Give you the strength you need to support healthy body function
Make your butt perkier and your arms less jiggly
All good things! No mention of “turning into a man” anywhere.
What you want is STRENGTH. You want to lift weights. You want to be STRONG and change the way your body LOOKS (aka body composition).
Strong is indeed the new sexy, and we need to dig a grave for the word “toned” and put it to rest for good.
