Mal and I were young when we got married (and the first of our friends to do so), so we weren’t in any rush to have children. We were having a lot of fun, just the two of us, so the kid thing wasn’t a topic of conversation during the first few years of marriage. And, truthfully, I think we both needed to warm up to the idea. Neither of us had any experience with babies, so we were a bit clueless about what it meant to be parents. We *thought* we wanted children (someday), so we just trusted we’d know when the time was right.
Fast forward to today…
Being Quinn’s mom is easily the best experience of my life, and I honestly didn’t know I’d enjoy being a mom so much. It’s funny to think I even questioned it!
Quinn has grown into the coolest kid, one who is smart, silly, thoughtful, and incredibly kind. He adds so much joy to our lives, and I’m so proud to be his mom. And he might have even made me a “kid person.”
Mal and Quinn spoiled me today with flowers, presents, adventures, tasty food, and snuggles. Moms, I hope you were spoiled today, too! Happy Mother’s Day!!
