When I first started tracking macros I did it all wrong

When I first started tracking macros I did it all wrong. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was working at Boston College (this was years before starting CNC), and I was new to tracking calories. I’m not even sure that macros were even a thing yet, but whatever I was doing, I was doing it WRONG!

Here’s what I’d do…

After an hour-long, first-thing-in-the-morning, fasted cardio session, I’d eat a Lite n Fit yogurt topped with Kashi cereal, thinking it was a healthy and low-calorie option. I think it was about 200 calories? After a SOLID HOUR in the gym? Yes, I was THAT girl. 🥴

Then lunch was a muffin or some sort of “meal replacement” bar and a bit of chocolate. Again, they weren’t the best choices… and honestly, not a whole bunch of calories either.

By the time I got home from work, I would eat through the entire kitchen. No wonder! I was probably eating a total of 500-600 calories during a pretty intense day of intentional cardio exercise and plenty of non-exercise movement at my job.

I was just so hungry! And looking back, it makes sense why.

I didn’t know what I didn’t know.

Fast forward and I know exactly how to stay healthy, manage my blood sugar, and reduce my cravings.

Macro nutrition has been a game changer for me, and this is why I committed to learning everything I could about it and why I exclusively teach macro nutrition to my clients.

Eating enough of the right foods in the proper proportions for your hormonal needs and health goals is the way to go. Finding macros and eating whole foods have been key to maintaining my health and seeing continual progress.

Macros are my favorite nutritional tool, and I love coaching women on them.

What crazy diet mistakes have you made in the past?
