Welcome to this next edition of the Friday 5! I’m especially excited for this week’s round-up. Read or watch the latest Friday 5 below.
1. Athleta Bikinis
I wanted to upgrade my Target bathing suits – they were feeling a bit flimsy – so I tried some from Athleta and I think I am a fan. I’m going to take them on vacation and test them out. I got two black tops and two black bottoms, basic I know. I went with smalls in both of the bottoms, and they fit fantastic. The plunge top is adjustable and has great coverage (no side boob!). The high neck top is super supportive, and has an underwire. I got a 32D-DD in that one, but might size up to a 34 and see how that fits, too. The Athleta suits were reasonably priced, and are definitely higher quality.
Here’s what I ordered:
2. Trader Joe’s Macaroons (look for them in the frozen section)
If you’re a fan of macaroons, you have got to look for these in the frozen section at Trader Joe’s. Quinn loves macaroons, and always gets one if they have them a coffee shop or bakery, so it’s a fun treat to have some at home. They’re naturally gluten-free, and only have 110 calories in 3 cookies. They are made with egg whites, but they haven’t affected my acne too much (which is good because I enjoy them, too!).
I also stopped by a local bakery in Weymouth and picked up a half dozen of their macaroons. They have some fun, unique flavors, and oh boy, are they delicious! I will definitely be back.
3. Massage Gun
Mal got me a massage gun! I have lots of muscular issues due to my scoliosis, and this has felt so good to loosen up the tight fascia. I’ve been using it on my glutes and low back, and so far, it feels really good and is helping break up the congested tissue. This is one of those things that you don’t really need it, but once you have it, it’s awesome.
4. Allbird Tree Runners
I may have talked about these before, but they’re basically like clouds for your feet and some of all my all time favorite tennis shoes. I have a white pair; even when they get dirty, they are meant to throw in the washing machine, and they come out looking brand new. If you’re looking for a spring sneaker, these are so cute. I’ve been wearing them non-stop. If I’m not working out, I’m wearing these. Mal also has a pair of Allbirds – they’re a Haupert favorite!
5. StrongMadeSimple 2.0
I have to give a shoutout to StrongMade Simple 2.o as it officially launched this week. I am beyond excited for this program! All of what I have learned in terms of working out and nutrition is bundled into this program. It is basically strength training (heavy lifting) with a bit of metabolic conditioning. This program is all about lifting heavy and helps you plan your nutrition as you go through the program. Plus, the entire program only uses dumbbells – two sets is all you need!
